Centre for Quantum Technologies at NUS
I am a frequent visitor to the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) of the National University of Singapore (NUS). So far I have visited Singapore five times:
- February 2008
- June 2008
- 9 April - 11 May 2009
- 27 June - 25 July 2009 (attended Les Houches School of Physics at NTU)
- 21 July - 10 September 2010
The aim of this page is to collect useful stuff for people visiting Singapore, especially those visiting CQT, and for listing some helpful information.

Transport
If you don't have an EZ-Link card yet, get one as soon as you arrive in Singapore. It is by far the most convenient way to pay for busses and subways/trains (MRT), and fares will be cheaper too when paying with this prepaid card. EZ-Link cards can be bought at any subway station, and you can also recharge them there. All busses and subway gates are equipped with electronic card readers that deduct the correct amount from your card. When riding the bus you need to hold the card to the card reader both during boarding and alighting, otherwise you may get overcharged for your journey.
Mobile phones, networks and WiFi in Singapore
For this topic I have written a separate article that can be found here.
